New Dragon age 4 Teaser Trailer and Info

We’re a little late to the party, but Bioware finally released a new teaser trailer for Dragon age 4 in December 2020. Check it out below.

This trailer has a lot of juicy bits that confirm much of the speculation about the game. Unfortunately, there’s still no release date for the game but it’s clear that Bioware is working on the project, so we should expect an update in 2021.

Watch Out, Dragon Age 3 Spoilers Ahead

For starters, we can see floating buildings with magic signs, which all but confirms that this game will will mainly take place in the Tevinter Imperium, the powerful human mage kingdom in the north of Thedas.

We also know that the trailer is narrated by Varric Tethras, one of the companions from Dragon Age: Inquisition, so it’s likely that he will be involved in the game. This also raises the likely possibility that we’ll see other characters return.

The trailer also confirms the heavy involvement of Solas, likely as the main villain that Varric refers to as “there’s always someone bent on breaking the world.”

This is a reference to Solas’ plan of destroying the Fade that he himself created. He reveals this plan at the end of Dragon Age 3’s Tresspasser DLC.

What about the Game’s Title?

Judging from the trailer, Bioware wants to move away from calling this next title “Dragon Age 4” and may in fact simply call it Dragon Age. The fact that Varric’s speech in the trailer is all about going back to the basics — fighting bad guys and saving the world — seems to allude to this.
